Meet a Hero Day

Our neighborhood had a Meet a Hero Day, where the kids could meet different heros. There was a black hawk helicopter, a firetruck, ambulance, swat team, marines, etc. It was a fun afternoon in the sun! We of course were fascinated with the blackhawk helicopter!

Growing old is a state of mind

Growing old is a state of mind....Apparently, Elle doesn't think she's too old to sit in the Bumbo and play. (This is how I found Elle when I came downstairs Friday morning).

Fancy Nancy Birthday Party

This weekend Elle's friend Abby had a Fancy Nancy birthday party. It was FABULOUS!! The girls dressed up like Fancy Nancy, got their make up and nails done, and then walked the run way. Too cute!

Running in the Rain

Some teachers that I work with signed up for a 5k and talked me into running it too. Well, the morning of the race was awful! It was pouring rain!! If you know me, you know I hate getting my hair wet too! I wasnt going to run it at first because I havn't been running since Thanksgiving and the pouring rain. After getting grief from my fellow teachers for not running in a race because of rain, I decided to just do it. So, Liz Kelly and I put on our shower caps and ran the race. We got lots of funny looks and lots of laughs from fellow runners, but it was worth it! Our hair looked beautiful afterwards!! The funny thing is, I got second place in my age group!! (Just dont ask me how many people were in my age group!)

After all that, my fellow teaches didn't even show up to run the race!!!!

Lily Kate did something!!

Lily Kate started sitting up last night. She was able to sit up for a good five minutes unsupported before toppling over. She still hasnt rolled over yet....and I don't see her learning how to roll over anytime soon. Her big belly makes it kind of hard! Elle never learned to roll over either. My girls!!

Elle's First Dentist Appointment

I took Elle to the dentist for the first time last week. We read several books about going to the dentist. She was pretty scared about the whole idea. My neighbor/friend Jen cleans teeth. So we made an appointment at her office. Elle was so brave!!! She sat in my lap in the big dentist chair while they cleaned her teeth. Jen did an AMAZING job of helping it to be fun. Elle didnt have any cavities! Afterwards Elle said, "I was scared just a little bit, but it wasnt that bad."
