Elle's walking!

Elle started walking a couple weeks before her first birthday. Now her favorite thing to do is to walk around the house carrying anything- purses, babies, blankets, etc. She is so fun to watch and wonder what in the world is going through her head.

The other day I noticed that she was walking around with my brown tank top over her head. If it fell off, she'd put it right back on her head and continue walking around. I had no idea what in the world she was doing. I finally came to the conclusion that she was pretending that it was her hair. She wanted to have long hair like her mom!

Admiring her hair in the mirror.

Elle has really started to imitate EVERYTHING I do. If I cough, she coughs. I blow my nose, she'll grab a tissue and blow her nose. I carry a purse, she wants a purse. Her favorite passtimes is to walk around carrying a purse. She'll stuff toys inside of it and walk around. She does prefer coach over the louie or other purses.

Walking and talking.

We went to the mall the other night and of course she had her purse. All she wanted to do was walk with her purse. She'd scream if we tried to carry her or put her in her stroller....and whatever you do, dont take away her purse or she'll really get upset!!

She LOVES to give kisses.

Giving her daddy a kiss- so sweet!

Another favorite passtime- reading books about puppies.

Play Group Birthday Party

Elle has three birthday parties for her first birthday!!
The first was at playgroup where we celebrated Elle's, Hayley's, and GAbe's first birthdays! We had so much fun!

Birthday party at Maws

On Elle's actual birthday, we had a small birthday party at Maw's house.

Elle LOVES puppies! She started saying puppy when she was 10 months old! Needless to say, her favorite present was the HUGE puppy dog Grandpa Steve got her.

She loves ripping the paper to open the presents. She became a pro at opening presents.

Three birthday parties!!

The weekend after Elle's birthday party, we had a big birthday party for Elle at Grandma Gails. It was so cute to watch her open the presents. She would hug the presents then throw to the side.

Girls trip to Savannah

This weekend my girlfriends and I took a weekend trip to Savannah in honor or Leslie who will be moving to Arizona. We always have so much fun when we're together!! Ryan, Leslie, Jackie, Jenna, and Amanda drove down Friday night and Me, Crystal, Laura, and Lisa drove down Saturday afternoon. On the way down, we didnt even turn the radio on one time. What could be better than straight girl talk for four hours?!! Nothing. Nothing at all. By the time we arrived in Savannah, all my worries were gone. We had talked about anything and everything. I felt revived and ready to go.

On our way out, we stopped by the Friday night girls' room to pick them up. Much to our surprise...they had on wigs!!! It was so funny- guess thats what happens when you spend the day in Savannah.

Saturday night we did the usual karoke scene. Its always so much fun to watch everyone get up and sing and dance. As usual, we took over. Everyone is always amazed that we can have this much fun being totally sober.

Before this weekend, I had no idea who Paula Dean was. I'm not much of a cooker these days so I obviously dont want to watch people cook on TV. Little did I know what I was missing out on! On Sunday, we ate at the infamous "Lady and Sons" owned by the legendary Paula Dean. I wanted to slap my mom it was soooooo good! Turnip greens, green beans, okra, bisquits, sweet potatoes.....the list goes on and on. We all wanted to keep eating, but just didnt know where to put it. Paula Dean will forever hold a special place in my heart.
