Elle's smile

I've been thinking about Elle's smile.....look at this picture of Elle when she was 9 months old. This is Elle almost exactly a year later....she still has that beautiful smile!!

Carving our pumpkin

Tonight before Abe left for Columbus, we carved our pumpkin. Actually, Abe carved the pumpkin and Elle and I watched. Elle didnt really like the slimy stuff inside the pumpkin. She just talked on the phone to Boo Boo and Lil Missy(my mom's shitzu's). It's funny when she talks on the phone. She says "HEY Missy" in a really high voice(just like I do). Then she'll say "Whatchadoin?" Then she'll laugh and start talking in Japenese. Then she'll say "OK. BYE."
She did help me sort all the pumpkin seeds out of the slimy stuff though. Afterwards we cooked the pumpkin seeds. I love pumpkin seeds!!

Elle is the least photogenic baby I've ever seen. She wont look at the camera and if she does she wont smile. Then if she does smile, its this weird smile where she squenches up her nose, squints her eyes, leans her head back, and pokes out her teeth. I mean she has a beautiful smile when there's no camera in sight. But, as soon as you bring out the camera....I just dont even know what happens to our little precious Elle. She reminds me of Chandler from friends...the episode where he tries to have a normal smile in pictures. It seriously took Abe and I 10 min. to get an average picture of Elle in front of the pumpkin. We gave up on her smiling. Just look at the camera Elle! Thats all we want!!
This is what I get when I ask her to smile:
Dont get me wrong. I'm not trying to sound mean. We love little Elle more than anything in this world. It's just one of the minor challenges we face as parents.

Halloween Party

Abe and I went to a Halloween party the other night. Can you figure out what we're dressed as?

The new boat

My mom and Steven got a new boat!! It is soooo nice!! It's called a cruiser. It basically looks like a really really big ski boat. It has a deck, two bedrooms, one and a half baths, a living room, and a kitchen. We went on it a couple weekends ago. They're keeping it on Lake Lanier. My mom said we were welcome to go on it anytime we wanted. We of course cant take it out by ourselves, but we can go on it whenever. So let us know if you want to go on it with us!!

Last days of summer

Here are a few pictures we took during the last days of summer. We took a walk around our neighborhood. Our neighborhood has a Children's Garden. Elle loves to smell and water the flowers.

Pumpkin Patch

We went to the pumpkin patch with our friends and neighbors across the street. They have a little boy, Andrew. Elle is in love with him!! We went to the pumpkin patch in Adairsville. It was fun. Elle and Andrew rode wooden horses, went through a little corn maize, rode little John Deere tractors and went to the petting zoo. We also took a hayride. But the most fun part for them was kicking the dirt and collecting rocks. Good times!

My life as a teacher

Ever since school started in August, I have been MIA! When I get home from school, the last thing I want to do is get on a computer. That's why Abe has taken over our blog....I know the posts are a little nerdy. Anyways, I stay crazy busy at school. I LOVE teaching first grade. I seriously get excited about going to work everyday and being around my students. It is a lot of hard work, but I'm loving every minute of it. I took some pictures of my I a nerd? I cant help it. I'm getting old and these things get me really excited.
